CARLOS CELI
Short Curriculum Vitae Overview

I am an Ecuadorian structural engineer with a Master's degree in Structural Engineering, awarded SUMMA CUM LAUDE by the National Polytechnic School. With over 15 years of professional experience, I have provided structural consultancy for high-rise buildings exceeding 140 meters in height.

Currently, I am a member of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. My primary area of research focuses on nonlinear mathematical modeling, which has resulted in multiple publications in international scientific journals.

Ongoing projects include:

-
Development of an interactive digital textbook on structural dynamics, aimed at supporting undergraduate students through the integration of theory, Python-based simulations, and visual learning tools.
-
Research on base isolation systems for seismic protection in Ecuador, with a focus on demystifying the design process and promoting their implementation in mid- and high-rise structures.
-
Implementation of artificial intelligence techniques in structural analysis, particularly in the application of deep learning models for the prediction of structural performance under dynamic loading.
-
Consultancy on high-rise building projects, involving the structural design and seismic evaluation of towers above 30 stories, incorporating advanced modeling techniques and compliance with both local and international codes.
-
Academic supervision of graduate theses, emphasizing practical applications of structural dynamics, nonlinear modeling, and computational methods in civil engineering.
